WOMEN'S COUNCIL FOR THE FIRST TIME IN TIM HISTORY

Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) founded the “TİM Women’s Council” in order to increase the number of women exporters, with the participation of our chairman of the board, Mrs. Pınar Saraçoğlu.

Mr. Ismail Gülle, president of the TIM, said: "During this period, when we have achieved a great breakthrough as a country, we will reach our national goals much faster by increasing our exports continuously and permanently with the support and labor of our women. Thanks to the Women’s Council we established, we aim to solve the problems faced by women exporters in the business world quickly and to carry out their projects more effectively. With this council we have created, we are launching a new mobilization in exports. Today, we are more than happy to establish the Women's Council, a first in TİM's history. In this period, when we have achieved a great breakthrough as a country, we will achieve our national goals much faster by increasing our exports continuously and permanently with the support and labor of our women. With this council we have created, we are launching a new mobilization in exports. We will focus on solving the existing problems of women exporters as well as increasing the number of new exporters. After setting the road map of the council, we will work hand in hand with the women delegates to get more women involved in the business and export community.”

“Women's Council to be a Touchstone for Our Country and for TİM”

TİM President Mr. Gülle added, "As Dear Mr. President has stated, women are the teachers of humanity in our eyes. They already have a strong intuition, which is a gift from God. We want to integrate this capability more into exports. For this reason, we have decided to create the Women's Council where our female delegates will be more actively involved. As Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Turkish Republic, emphasized, 'everything we see on Earth is the work of women'.” she continued to say in the form of. Stating that as of 2018, there are 5,200 women exporters, the president of TIM continued, “In other words, only 7.3 percent of our 71 thousand exporters are women. With our new administration, for the first time, a woman member of the team was selected in the administration. Likewise, while there were 39 women members on the boards of directors of our exporters' unions, there are 55 women members now. We are committed to increasing these numbers even more. We aim to increase the number of both women exporters and women delegates, and to ensure that many more women employees are represented in the business world. Therefore, we believe that the establishment of Women's Council will be a touchstone for both our country and TİM.”

The president of TİM made the following evaluations for the works to be carried out within the Council: “With the council we established, we aim to solve the problems faced by women exporters in the business world more quickly and to carry out the projects they offer more effectively. For this purpose, we will reward successful women exporters more. Successful women exporters and entrepreneurs in and around Turkey and the world will be brought together. We will encourage more entrepreneurial women to participate in our trade delegations.”

The TIM Women's Council is expected to meet in October to form the roadmap and begin to realize tangible projects.

We would like to thank all the members who contributed and participated in the creation of the council.
